Combine 1 cup all-purpose flour, rye flour, undissolved yeast, brown sugar and salt in a large mixer bowl. Heat water, corn syrup, molasses and oil until very warm (120° to 130°F). Add to flour mixture. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Add egg and 1/2 cup all-purpose flour; beat 2 minutes at high speed. Stir in enough remaining all-purpose flour to make a soft dough. Knead on lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 5 to 7 minutes. Cover; let rest 10 minutes.
Divide dough into 20 equal pieces. Form into smooth balls. Place balls in a greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan (or use two greased 8-inch round pans). Cover; let rise in warm, draft-free place until doubled in size, about 45 to 50 minutes.
Bake in preheated 375°F oven for 20 minutes. Combine butter and 1 tablespoon corn syrup; brush over partially baked rolls. Return rolls to oven; bake 5 to 10 minutes longer or until deep golden brown.
